After five years, Afrin displaced repair mosque destroyed by ISIS

Residents of Maratah village in Al-Shahba district, in cooperation with the two communes, contributed in repairing the village mosque, which was destroyed by ISIS mercenaries 5 years ago.

The mosque of Maratah village in Al-Shahba district was destroyed by ISIS mercenaries in 2015, and it was looted.

The villagers submitted a request to the two communes to repair the mosque, and the commune established a committee to collect donations from the residents to repair the mosque.

The co-chair of the two communes, Mayssa Abdo, said that the two communes responded to the request of the people, and submitted a request to the Religious Affairs Committee.

The two communes initiated the committees to collect donations from the people of the village, and delivered them to the mosque's Imam.

The Imam, Abdul Qadir Othman, a displaced from Afrin, said that ISIS mercenaries destroyed places of worship, and that the Turkish occupation took the same approach in destroying temples and religious sites.

Othman added that the amount raised by the people was enough to repair the mosque and buy supplies to be ready for prayers.
