Education Authority decides to end school year 2019-2020

Due to the continued curfew against the Coronavirus pandemic, based on the requirements of the public interest and to protect students, the Education Authority in North and East Syria decided to end the school year 2019-2020.

Today, the Education Authority in North and East Syria issued Resolution No. (1) concerning the schools in the regions of northeast of Syria, and the text of its statement reads as follows:

Based on the outputs of the Education Authority of North and East Syria meeting with the educational bodies and committees in the Autonomous and Civil Administrations, and based on the requirements of the public interest, the Education Commission in North and East of Syria decided to:

1- End the academic year 2019-2020.

2- Transfer all students to the higher level according to the levels in the next academic year 2020-2021.

3- Follow-up on distance education to compensate for the educational lessons.

4- Conduct assessment and exams for the secondary certificate in Afrin and the Euphrates regions.

The decision shall be communicated to whomever it concerns.
