Aisha Hasso calls on governments of Iraq, Basur to take a firmer stance on Turkish attacks

The recent Turkish attacks drew condemnation and denunciation by the Iraqi authorities and the majority of the Kurdish forces, and the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hasso, explained that, under the current circumstances the world is witnessing and the risks to humanity as a result of the Corona pandemic, which kills thousands of people daily, the Turkish state shows its outbreak.

Aisha Hasso explained that while the entire world is taking measures to deter the Corona pandemic as well as the residents of Makhmour camp, Turkish planes launch attacks on the camp, and said: "This matter is shameful and disgraced to all countries of the world, while the world is suffering from the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, which is considered a catastrophe for humankind, the Turkish state shows its outbreak once again by attacking the areas and cities inhabited by the Kurds.

Aisha Hasso pointed out that the Turkish attacks on Makhmour camp come in conjunction with calls by the United Nations and international powers for a ceasefire throughout the world, and to confront the pandemic of Corona, and continued: "However, the Turkish state continues its violent attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, where its planes attacked on April 15, Makhmour camp, which suffers mainly from suffocating siege and great danger. "

Makhmour camp is witnessing a suffocating siege imposed by the authorities of the Kurdistan Democratic Party- Iraq in July 18, 2019, a day after the killing of the Turkish deputy consul in Başûr Kurdistan, and Aisha Hasso called on the authorities of the Kurdistan Democratic Party to break the siege and break its silence regarding the Turkish attacks.

Aisha Hasso described the Turkish state's plane attack on Makhmour camp as "brutal," and noted: "These attacks indicate that Turkey is continuing its outbreak and committing genocide against the Kurdish people."

Aisha Hesso blamed the United Nations and the world powers for the Turkish attacks on Makhmour camp and the crimes it committed against the Kurdish people. She said, “Turkey, instead of blocking the doors to the spread of the Corona virus, which is killing its people, it attacks the Kurdish people with all its might.”

Turkey exploits the world's preoccupation with fighting Corona to implement its occupation projects

Aisha Hasso confirmed that the Turkish state exploits the world's concern to combat the Corona virus and continues its attacks on the regions of northern and eastern Syria and the Kurdistan region to implement its agendas and occupational projects; and demanded those concerned in the Syrian file and the Kurdistan region not to be silent about Turkish violations.

Aisha Hasso stressed the need for the UN organizations and countries that launched ceasefire appeals in the world to confirm Turkey's actions.

On the position of the Iraqi government on the recent Turkish attacks, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hasso, explained that the Iraqi government’s position, which included denouncing the Turkish attack on Makhmour camp is not enough, and held the Iraqi governments and the Kurdistan Region responsible for the Turkish attack on the geography of Başûr and Iraq at the same time and called on the Iraqi government to close its airspace to Turkish aircraft.
