The KDP authorities  have imposed a suffocating siege on the martyr Rustam Jodi camp in Başûr of Kurdistan ( since July 18, 2019, a day after killing the deputy of the Turkish consul in Hewler.

Some 12,000 people live at the martyr Rustam Jodi camp (Mexmûr) after the fierce Turkish attacks on the towns and villages of Bakûr of Kurdistan in the 1990s. The camp is also known as the Resistance Camp for the bravery of its residents who sacrificed the Kurdish Cause with everything they had. The camp was named after the martyr who sacrificed his life for the Kurdish Cause.

The imposed siege by the KDP-Iraq authorities has significantly affected the camp's residents, which is under the umbrella of the UNHCR for Refugees, which has so far taken no real stance on the siege and has not provided any assistance to the camp's residents since 2015.
