Lawyer: International institutions must shoulder their responsibilities towards Ocalan's isolation

In an interview with Hawar News Agency, the lawyer and member of the Lawyers Union in al-jazeera Muhammed Amin al-Naimi explained that the Turkish authorities violate international human rights covenants and treaties by imposing strict isolation and disciplinary sanctions against leader Ocalan.

Al-Nuaimi confirmed: "There is no law in the world that permits to prevent lawyers and families of detainees from meeting them, and whatever the degree of punishment, especially if the charge is political."

Lawyer Muhammad Amin Al-Nuaimi explained that the policies practiced against leader Ocalan are clear violations of human rights, and he said: “The history of the Turkish state is full of arbitrary practices and human rights violations.”

Al-Nuaimi indicated that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is an international human rights document that represents the declaration adopted by the United Nations on December 10, 1948 at the Chao Palace in Paris, and the declaration consisting of 30 articles talking about the United Nations opinion on protected and guaranteed human rights.

Lawyer Muhammed Amin Al-Nuaimi called on international institutions such as the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and Amnesty International to follow up on human rights in the world to break their silence, shoulder their responsibilities regarding Turkish human rights violations, and impose severe isolation on Ocalan.

 He said: "leader Ocalan must be allowed to meet his lawyer and family, because it is a legitimate right."

It is worth noting that the Turkish authorities impose strict isolation on leader Ocalan and refuse to allow a lawyer and his families to visit him.

Lawyers were able to meet their client Ocalan for the first time after an eight-year ban on May 2, 2019, followed by other visits on May 2 and 22, July 12 and 18, August 7 and October 21, 2019, to return to Turkey to prevent visits under the pretext of disciplinary sanctions that confirm Lawyers are of a confidential nature and are ignorant of their content and reasons.
