Protests demanding Khamenei resignation in Tehran 

Iranian ISNA agencies reported that the students gathered in front of Amir Kabeer University in Hafiz Street in the center of the capital Tehran, demanding the dismissal of whoever responsible for the accidental shooting down of the plane, and justice for the families of the victims. They also raised slogans condemning the Revolutionary Guards and President Hassan Rouhani, holding them responsible for bringing down the plane and not proclaiming that to the people.”

Media outlets published videos on social media showing the gathering of protesters, chanting that slogans that demand the resignation of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The demonstration came against the background of Tehran's admission on Saturday morning that the Ukrainian plane was shot down in Iran unintentionally and as a result of a human error, that it had entered in a wrong way in the circle of a hostile target after approaching a sensitive military center related to the Revolutionary Guards, which led to targeting it.

The Boeing 737-800 passenger plane of Ukrainian Airlines was crashed at dawn on January 8^th during a flight from Tehran to the Ukrainian capital Kiev after taking off in minutes causing a disaster that killed 176 people.
