Haftar rejects Russian–Turkish mediation, truce

"The Libyan armed forces continue their war against the classified -terrorist groups according to the resolutions of the UN Security Council that prove by experience that there is no way to establish the civilian state unless they are completely eliminated," the Gen. Ahmed al-Masmari, the spokesman of the Libyan National Army said in a statement.

"Those groups captured the capital, Tripoli, and they are getting the support from some states and governments which provide them with military equipment, ammunition and various weapons, in addition to the offensive drones." He added.

He went on saying: "Those supporting states and governments for the terrorist groups in Tripoli are moving large numbers of terrorists from all over the world for fighting against the armed forces and the Libyan people."   

 He stressed that achieving the stability and security, responding to the demands of the democratic transition, resuming the political process and agreeing on a national framework for a fair distribution of the Libyan wealth without exclusion or marginalization means that we can say that the dissolution and disarmament of the militias has become a national and international demand for implementation of the security arrangements in the capital that produces a security scene in which we can talk about an effective political process, leading to the formation of a government that has the will and the ability to enforce its decisions throughout the country.

On Wednesday, the Russian president and his Turkish counterpart Racap Tayyab Erdogan called for the Libyan crisis actors to declare a truce from  Sunday's night on.
