Putin and Erdogan made joint statement focusing on Libya

The talks held on Wednesday by the Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan ended with issuing a joint statement without holding a press conference, while the statement focused on the Libyan situation and the US-Iranian escalation.

In a joint statement, Turkey and Russia called on all parties in Libya to declare a permanent cease-fire, supported by the necessary measures to be taken for the stability of the situation on the ground and the return of the daily life of people in Tripoli and other cities to its normality.

Erdogan and Putin called for a ceasefire in Libya starting from Sunday.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan considered that the American operation to assassinate the commander of al-Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani, undermined the security and stability of the region.

About Idlib, the statement said, “We stress the need for calm in Idlib by implementing all the provisions of the agreements related to it.”
