AA: names of two leaders of ISIS in Serekaniye, Tel abyad documented

The Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria called for providing international support for the establishment of an international court to try ISIS mercenaries, and confirmed there are documented names of leader mercenaries in the areas of Serekaniye and Tal Abyad, which are under Turkish occupation.

The Foreign Relations Department’s statements in the Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria came today in a press conference held in the department’s office in Qamishlo, in the presence of several local and regional media.

Abeer Eliya, speaking to the press conference, Deputy co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, explained: "With the Syrian Democratic Forces’ declaring victory over the terrorist organization ISIS and the elimination of their alleged state, in March 23, 2019, and two days later, in 25, March Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria issued a statement to the public opinion calling for the necessity of establishing an international court in the AA areas in light of the availability of reasonable and legal conditions to complete this procedure.

Abeer Eliya indicated that the Autonomous Administration called on the international community to cooperate with it to form this court and provide legal and logistical assistance, stressing the necessity of establishing this court in northern and eastern Syria, since the crimes were committed against the peoples and components of this region, and because the administration possesses the evidence and witnesses that condemn these "criminals".

Abeer Eliya explained during the press conference: "The file of more than ten thousand fighters from the terrorist organization ISIS, in addition to tens of thousands of their families from more than fifty countries is a very dangerous file, and it constitutes a huge burden and needs great international cooperation as it is a file concerned with the world, because ISIS represented a threat to the whole of the free world and humanity; in light of the lack of response in this context, and also because of the presence of condemnations on all detainees within the Autonomous Administration, we confirm once again, that this file must be resolved through international cooperation to form an international court to prosecute these terrorists ".

Turkey, through its attacks, contributed to the safe return of ISIS members to the areas it occupied

Abeer Eliya noted: “With the Turkish attacks on our regions, the sleeper cells of the ISIS terrorist group have been active, and Turkish support for mercenaries has also contributed to the safe return of ISIS members who fled to Turkey during the SDF’s campaigns against the terrorist organization to the last Turkish occupation areas,” (there are documented names of ISIS leader now existing in Serekaniye/ Ras Al-Ain and Girê Spi / Tel Abyad) these are dangerous developments and allow for an organized return to the terrorist organization, despite the modest capabilities, we have contributed to maintaining the security of the detainees in our areas with attempts to escape after the Turkish attacks, which requires an international role in this framework, especially in matters of security and infrastructure for detention camps designated for terrorists of this type, so we see that an international court procedure in the areas of the Autonomous Administration in light of the availability of evidence, witnesses and victims must take place, and there must be international cooperation in this file is the responsibility of the whole world. "
