Intellectuals Union recalls poet Mohammed Manla al-Ghazil on 4th anniversary

The poet Mohammed Manla Ghazal is Mohammed Manla Darwish, nicknamed "Ghazail" after his grandfather Al-Ghazil. He was born in Al Sheikh Aqeel neighborhood of Manbij in December 1936. Gazail is symbolic for Manbij people, as he is considered one of  literature and culture representatives in the city and  his poetry talked about the state of the hard-working ,poor people classes, On January 5th, 2016, he died. And his body is buried in his hometown at Sheikh Aqeel graveyard.

 The memorial ceremony was attended today by dozens of poets and representatives of the Civil Administration in Manbij city and its countryside,  the memorial began with a  silence minute  ,  several speeches were delivered, including a speech on behalf of the Committee of Culture and Art delivered by the Joint Chairman of the Committee, Mohammed Qabarati confirmed that poet Ghazail is physically gone, but his intellectual and literary output is alive in Manbij, a figure that combines literature, culture, thought and social activism.

 It was followed by a speech on behalf of the Civil Administration  of Manbij city and its countryside, delivered by the deputy of the Legislative Council Juma Haidar, a writer who went on to talk about  the Poet Ghazail, and based on his descriptions of humanity boasting about him in a literary style and calling him " Manbij  poet and her wise", recalling one of Ghazal's titles , which is "The little sailor" also pointed out that the poet Ghazail was one  of reading lovers.

 Then a speech delivered by the poet, al-Ghozil's friend and  his time friend, Hassan Abdullah Hassan, who described al-Ghazail as a "literary man" and recalled al-Ghrazail's attitudes, and concluded his speech with verses written by the poet Manla Ghazaiil.

After that, several poems were delivered by the Poet Ahmed Lyas Hamdo, The Poet Ibrahim al-Mahmoud, and The Poet Rachid Assaf, where all the poems lamented the poet Muhammad Manla Ghazail, and went on to describ Manbij city, whose name was associated with poetry.

 At the end of the anniversary events, the child, Siraj al-Din Al-Abo, delivered a poem  by  al-Ghazal entitled " Gypsies' tents", a poem that rejects the separation of the people, and describes it as the patchwork  tent in a sign that it is a weak one that does not protect  against the hardship. That the tents have been set up for defending against them.
