​​​​​​​Protests denouncing American-Iranian skirmish on Iraq

At least two Iraqis were killed and others wounded, as protesters protested that an armed group had carried out a symbolic funeral of the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qassem Soleimani.

Clashes erupted between the Iraqi sit-ins and the armed group in al-Haboubi Square in Nasiriyah, in Dhi Qar Governorate, in the south of the country.

The Iraqi police took over the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Authority in Dhi Qar (Nasiriyah), with demonstrations continuing to condemn the American-Iranian skirmishes and their differences on Iraqi soil.

In the same context, the European Union invited the Iranian Foreign Minister to Brussels to search for the latest developments of the American and Iranian crisis.

The tension between the United States of America and Iran comes against the background of the assassination of Soleimani, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, the deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of Iranians and Iraqis as a result of American raids targeting their convoy on the Baghdad airport road at dawn Friday.
