The Omani Foreign Ministry issued a statement requesting both America and Iran for dialogue, and the statement also said, "The Sultanate is following with great interest, the recent unfortunate developments, the state of tension and escalation between the United States and Iran."

Iran has refused to accept Qatari mediation to ease tension between it and America, after the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, according to statements by a senior leader of the Revolutionary Guards, reported by Iranian state television.

The General, one of the most prominent leaders of the Revolutionary Guards, Mohammad Reza Naqdi, revealed on Iranian television his country's position on Qatari mediation, saying: "The consequences of Soleimani's death will be very painful for the Americans, and the decision to respond was taken and irreversible, and we advise the United States not to tire itself by sending mediators, and ministers to mediate." and to meet Minister Javad Zarif to dissuade Tehran from the decision to respond. "

The tension between the United States of America and Iran comes against the background of the assassination of Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of Iranians and Iraqis, as a result of American raids targeting their convoy on the Baghdad airport road early Friday.
