Since his capture on February 15, 1999, the Turkish state has imposed severe isolation on the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Ocalan’s policies are strongly condemned in the four parts of Kurdistan and by prominent institutions and personalities around the world.

In the context of the continuous condemnation of isolation, the Kongra Star Office in Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood delivered a statement today.

Members of the Kongra Star and all the women’s offices in neighborhood councils and political parties participated in the statement, in front of the office of the Syrian Democratic Council in the eastern part of Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood.

The statement was delivered by the administrator of the Relations Office in Democratic Union Party, Salwa Mohamed.

The text of the statement read:

"Twenty years ago, the isolation on the leader Abdullah Ocalan is still continuing by the Erdogan government, which seeks to keep the resisting people who receive their strength from his ideology and philosophy from their goals, as they do not allow Ocalan's lawyer and the HDP body to meet with their client."

"The main goal of isolation is to paralyze the Kurdish freedom movement and to undermine the resistance of our people," the statement continued.

The statement pointed out that Ocalan's thought spread among "peoples eager for freedom and democracy, and among peoples who suffered calamities from the model of nation-states and centralism."

The statement demanded that "human rights organizations and all independent personalities and peace lovers should fulfill their duty towards the international leader by pressuring the Turkish government to release him."
