325 deputies voted in favor of sending Turkish forces to Libya in exchange for the opposition of 184 members, and that during an emergency session held by the Turkish parliament at the request of the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Several countries, especially those that have borders with Libya warned that Turkish military intervention in Libya would exacerbate the conflict in the country and threaten the region's stability and security.

Last month, the Turkish president said that Fayez al-Sarraj had asked him to send Turkish forces to Libya after they had signed a military agreement allowing Ankara to send soldiers and military experts to Libya.

The agreement, along with another separate agreement on maritime borders between the two countries caused anger in the region and beyond, and no details have been revealed about the possible Turkish military deployment.

The Republican People Party and the main Opposition Party in Turkey have previously indicated that it would vote against the decision draft, saying it would implicate Turkey into another conflict and make it a party to the bloodshed of Muslims.
