Shahoz Hassen: National unity is life matter for Kurds 

On Thursday, the Democratic Union Party organized an expanded meeting for the people of Qamishlo region to explain the latest political developments taking place in the regions of northern and eastern Syria at Al Sayran Hall in Al Joudi neighborhood in Qamishlo city.

Hundreds of people from the Qamishlo region, members of the Senate, members of the Democratic Islamic Society Conference in North and East Syria, and members of the civil community institutions attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the joint head of the Democratic Union Party, Shahoz Hassen, spoke about the latest developments taking place in the region, including the Turkish attacks on the regions of northeastern Syria. He said, “"A filthy international policy is  practiced against the people of the region, which aims to break the will of the people of the region, and to enable the people of the region to thwart this policy to some extent.”

Hassen indicated that the Democratic Union Party had worked hard to solve the issue within Syria, and said, “We are now ready to do everything required to solve the Kurdish issue.” He indicated that the forces hostile to the aspirations of the Kurdish people saw the existence of the Kurdish people as a danger to them.

Hassen said, “The regime that is trying to annihilate us now is the Turkish regime more than the rest of the occupied regimes of Kurdistan under pretexts such as political Islam and Turkification.” He noted that the Turkish regime was one of the most fascist regimes in the world.

Hassen indicated that they made clear to global powers such as Russia and America the political danger of Erdogan, but they did not move and moved according to their interests.

He said, “The violations practiced by Turkey now against the Kurdish people are no different from the violations practiced by the Ottoman authorities against the Armenians, Assyrians, Arabs and Kurds a hundred years ago.”

Shahoz Hassen touched upon the fate of the Kurdish people at this stage, and said, “The Kurdish people are under attack by the Turkish occupation army. Our existence is in danger, so we must unite our ranks as soon as possible, and the national unity is now a life issue for the Kurdish people.”

The meeting ended by opening the discussion to the audience, and the participants stressed the need to raise the pace of the struggle, and put pressure on the Kurdish parties and forces to unite their ranks to confront the dangers facing the Kurdish people.”
