US House of Representatives begins Trump's "removing" session

The discussions are expected to continue for about six hours in the Democrats-dominated Council, ending with the adoption of two charges targeting the Republican president, namely the abuse of power and the obstruction of Congress’ work.

Trump is facing an accusation of abusing his authority by calling for Ukraine to investigate Biden seeking to win the Democratic Party nomination for the presidential elections next year, and he is accused of obstructing the Congress to investigate into this matter, while the US President denies wrongdoing, and denounced the investigation as a hoax.

Some Democrats may reject accountability, but their number will not be sufficient to threaten the approval of the two accountability clauses, and Trump will remain in office until the outcome of his trial before the Senate is announced.

Trump is likely to face a trial in the Senate to determine whether he should be convicted and removed, and the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell expects the trial to begin in early January.

The Senate is dominated by Trump's fellow Republicans, who defend him strongly, and the Senate has a membership of 100, and Trump will be condemned only with the approval of at least two-thirds of the House members present by voting, and thus condemning Trump requires the support of 20 of the 53 Republican members of the House.
