Preparation for opening a camp for Girê Spî displaced

As a result of the Turkish aggression against Girê Spî canton and the indiscriminate shelling since the 9^th of this month, thousands of families have been displaced to safe areas for fear of indiscriminate shelling, and spread in al-Tabqa and al-Raqqa.

Girê Spî Canton Council considered the need to establish a special camp for Girê Spî refugees, as it identified a 2-hectare land in Tel al-Samen area, 30 km southeast of Ain Issa district of Girê Spî district.

Hevin Ismail, the co-chair of Girê Spî Canton Council said, "In coordination with the autonomous Administration in North and East Syria, we have determined a part of land to set up a camp to accommodate the displaced people from Girê Spî city and its villages, which have spread in al-Tabqa and al-Raqqa, so that we can provide financial and moral assistance to them."

Hevin Ismael revealed that the statistics available to them indicated that there were 1700 families in al-Raqqa.

The co-chair of Girê Spî Canton Council confirmed that they would begin equipping the camp as soon as possible before winter, and appealed to humanitarian organizations to assist them in the opening of the camp and contain the displaced.
