The Yemeni army issued a statement on Sunday confirming downing an Iranian-made drones north of the country.

A military source told Al Arabiya that the Iranian-made drones were on a reconnaissance mission, according to September website of the Yemeni Defense Ministry.

It is noteworthy that the Yemeni army forces announced on Saturday, that they were able to down a reconnaissance drone belonging to the Houthi forces, in the district of Hiran province of Hajja in the northwest of the country.

According to the official website of the Yemeni army that the downed Houthi drone aircraft aimed to explore the positions of the National Army in the Directorate of Hiran.

He confirmed that it was found after examining the wreckage of the reconnaissance plane that it was Iranian-made.

This aircraft is the eighth intercepted by the National Army in the sky of the "liberated" areas in the province of Hajja since the beginning of this year.
