Serê Kaniyê women continue to fight for women's rights

A number of women from Serê Kaniyê congratulated the women of the world and the revolutionary women on the occasion of the International Women Day, noting the activist Leyla Guven became the symbol of the free woman who rejects injustice and follows the path of freedom.

The International Women's Day, as a symbol of women's freedom to demand their rights, is celebrated around the world on March 8, following the first World Women's Democratic Conference held in Paris in 1945.

Women of Serê Kaniyê city of al-Hasaka canton in northern Syria, who are preparing to celebrate March 8, said in an interview with our agency (ANHA) that women must unite to prove their presence and personality.

Etab Abdullah, the member of Kongra Star congratulated all the women on the occasion of March 8, she pointed out that women have been able to play their role in all aspects of life and struggle against the injustices and oppression suffered by women throughout history.

Etab said that the campaign of Leyla Guven, who continues her hunger strike demanding the freedom of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan and became the symbol of free women.

That this day is considered the feast of all women in the world is the day of revolution.

Nora added that Ocalan fought for the freedom of women, so women should not be silent about the violations against him which are practiced by the Turkish state and they must demand his freedom constantly.

Salwa stressed the continuation of the struggle to obtain all women's rights and achieve equality.
