Project reinforces cooperative spirit among women

In order to promote the cooperative spirit and self-reliance of women and raise the level of women's economy, the Economics Committee of Kongra Star in al-Ashoriya (Assyrian) neighborhood opened a food shop for 3 women.

Rojava revolution has opened the ways to the women to enhance their role in all fields, and contributed to the development of women's economic level and self-reliance through projects specialized to women.

Within the framework of these projects, there was the project of a park and food shop in al-Ashoriya neighborhood in Qamishlo city which was opened on 25 December 2018 under the name "Qamishlo Municipality's Martyrs."

The shop's worker and supervisor Rojin Saleh Suleiman said, "We are working in the shop in order to rely on ourselves, do not need anyone, raise the level of our economy, and to become the owners of will and get our rights, in addition to breaking the mentality planted by the authoritarian mentality that was imposed on women."

The spokeswoman on behalf of the cooperative societies in the western district of Qamishlo city Sabah Ibrahim said that by opening such projects, we aim to increase the links among women, strengthen the cooperative spirit among women, and to save women from the restrictions imposed on them since women were the first to discover industry, agriculture and all aspects of life.

Sabah said that after Rojava Revolution and the spread of the thought and philosophy of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, the women have taken pioneer role in society and have taken a place in all areas of life, whether political, military, economic and social, and they have become self-reliant without the need for anyone.
