Arab politicians: Turkey brought nothing but destruction

The politicians of the Arab component in Aleppo city have stressed that the women will not accept what women had suffered during Ottoman's domination, and Turkish occupation wants to obliterate the history of the peoples by its atrocious practices.

The Turkish state wants to revive Ottoman's glories by its desire to occupy the Syrian territories which lasted for 4 centuries, such as annihilation, destruction, displacement, and demographic change, in particular after occupying Jarablus, al-Bab and Afrin and recently its threats against north and east of Syria.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) held an interview with the politicians of the Arab components in Aleppo city.

The Administration of the Office of Women's Organization of the SDC in Aleppo, Fawzia Abdel Hanan, noted that the policy pursued in Syria is a series of policies that were practiced during the Ottoman occupation of the Levant, including arbitrary arrests and killing and displacement.

Fawzia commented on the phenomenon of the confiscation of feudalists during the Ottoman occupation against the civilians, especially the farmers, which were common at the time, and pressuring on the intellectuals as practiced by the Turkish state against intellectuals, academics and politicians like arbitrary arrests and restriction of their freedom.

What has Turkey achieved by its occupation of Syria?

In the context, the member of the Syria Democratic Council in Aleppo, Fatima al-Hassino said "In a simple reading of history, the Ottoman state has practiced horrific practices against the people from all sides and their occupation for four consecutive centuries of the region, spreading corruption from all political, cultural and economic aspects."

She pointed out that there was a fierce fight for the mother tongue, where Turkification policy was followed characterizing the area with Turkish color, and the Arabic language in that period was subject to extinction like many languages that have been dissolved in the world as a result of non-pronunciation. However, because the Arabic language was the language of the Holy Quran, it survived the extinction, and its example is applied in our reality today by teaching the Turkish language in Syrian schools, especially in Afrin and raising their flags even dealing in the Turkish currency and bringing that policy back to the region again.
