Kurdish community in Lebanon denounces the occupation of Afrin

On the first anniversary of the start of the Turkish aggression against Afrin canton, which began on 20 January 2018, and in order to condemn the occupation and its violations against the people of Afrin and the silence of the international community of these violations, the Democratic Society Movement held a meeting of the Kurdish community in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Sharvin Jody, the administrator of the Democratic Society Movement, said," Despite all the harsh conditions and amidst international silence, the people of Afrin and its fighters took up the decision of the resistance and the defense until the last moment. They were able to withstand the fiercest attack of 58 days in the first phase of the resistance. Their resistance continues in its second phase, taking the will and spirit of the martyrs Avesta Xabûr, Barîn, Karkir and Aylan as a basis to continue resistance till liberation.

She stressed that the Kurdish women have proved their strength in the Resistance of the Age, as they had resisted in Kobani before, the revolution led by that revolutionary spirit and women's will cannot be defeated, and Afrin will be liberated sooner or later."

At the end of her speech, Sharvin Jody, had greeted the parliamentarian struggler, Leyla Guven in the prisons of the fascist Turkish, she has been on hunger strike for 76 days demanding to lift the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan.
