KCK: Continuous resistance till achieving full goals, visit does not mean breaking isolation

The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) issued a statement about the visit of Muhammad Ocalan to the leader Ocalan in his prison on the island of Imrali on Saturday, and said that this step comes in light of psychological warfare.

Turkish authorities have isolated the leader Ocalan in his prison inside Imrali island since three years, as the authorities have refused requests from the family and lawyers to meet Ocalan during the past three years.

In protest against the conditions of Ocalan's detention, dozens of denunciations, and hunger strikes were held around the world, most notably a hunger strike in Turkish prisons, where dozens of them, including the co-chair of the Democratic Community Conference Leyla Guven went on hunger strike for more than two months

The text of the statement "Our people throughout Kurdistan and abroad continue their great struggle under the slogan of" breaking isolation, defeating fascism and achieving the freedom of Kurdistan. "Hundreds of detainees in prisons continue their open hunger strike, many of the diverse and rich activities carried out by our people throughout Kurdistan and abroad.

The union confirmed that after years of severe isolation of the leader Ocalan by the AKP and its MHP ally, the media announced that the AKP authorities and its ally MHP, allowed Ocalan's brother, Mohammed Ocalan, to visit him in Imrali island prison on Saturday 12 January.

The statement stressed that "first of all, everyone should know that this visit was made thanks to the resistance and struggle of our people led by the parliamentarian Leyla Guven. On the basis of this success, we congratulate all our people and friends of this victory and wish them success at all stages."

The statement added: "But it is clear that this visit does not mean the end of the severe isolation imposed on Ocalan and the continuation of the fascist pressures and practices against Ocalan. Accordingly, we emphasize that the campaign" Breaking the isolation and defeating fascism "initiated by our people and the Kurdistan liberation movement continues to achieve all its goals. All the comrades, friends and the children of our people have to realize the goal of this permission of visit at this time, this is a psychological war led by the AKP, MHP, and its goal is to weaken our campaign and the resistance of our people who have reached the height of their power."

He pointed out that "the fascist AKP and MHP have realized the level of the resistance and that it is no longer able to confront it, so it has resorted to this method in order to weaken the resistance, and stripped it of its essence. But we are aware of the reality of these psychological warfare methods and realize its purpose. We will not be deceived by such attempts and we will continue our struggle till breaking the wall of isolation and achieve our goals. Therefore, all our friends, our people of resistance and public opinion must be well aware that our campaign is capable of breaking isolation, defeating fascism, liberating Kurdistan and achieving democracy, on which we have to escalate the struggle more than ever before."
