Suffering of displaced people in Yarub camp is aggravated by cold

Winter is aggravating the suffering of the displaced people, wherever they are their journeys and pains are renewed. Families are saved from death, but do not survive the cold and low heat in their tents.

ANHA correspondent has monitored the situations of the civilians who have fled from Palmyra and Hama cities to settle in Yarub camp under the harsh cold weather.

Thawra al-Jumma, one of the displaced women of Yarub camp, a mother of four girls, they lived in hardship and tragedy. She is now trying to bring bread crumbs and fill the cold storms which invaded their tents every day by collecting firewood to protect themselves from the cold

She said "Necessity is the mother of invention, we need bread, we cook the food on firewood, and there is no gas or kerosene available, also it is too expensive."

She asked, "What life are you asking? We are killed by cold and hunger and we live an unstable life. Like any homeless Syrian, what is our guilty, just because we are Syrians?"

She added, once Turkey threatens us, once ISIS and once the regime, when will we return to our homes and get security? After those years of displacement, I ask only to live safely and nothing else.

The war exhausted our souls

The displaced Abd al-Mozhem began his appeal and said: "Stop the wars and the displacement of the Syrians, the war has exhausted our souls."

Who feels the tragedy of the poor who are killed by the cold and hunger? Who feels our suffering when our tents flood with water? We have no means of heating only the firewood, our bodies are exhausted by hunger and cold and the situation is worsening day by day," he said.
