The People Protection Units (YPG) dropped an unmanned Turkish drone over Dêrik city in northern Syria.

The Media Center of the People Protection Units issued on Thursday a statement to the public opinion stating that their forces had shot down a Turkish drone over Dêrik city in Qamishlo canton, north of Syria.

The statement included,

"In the early days of 2019, our forces dropped a Turkish drone while it was hovering over Dêrik city of al-Jazeera in order to depict.

The Turkish occupation state still attempts to occupy Rojava and northern Syria, and it continues its violations to cross the border. Therefore, it uses various types of devices that our forces within the principle of legitimate defense target it when it try to enter the areas under their control. We confirm that the violations against our borders would be repelled through the lawful defense using legitimate methods."
