Families of martyrs demanded air embargo ,made several proposals

Today, thousands of martyrs' families demonstrated in al-Jazeera region to denounce the Turkish threats on the northern and eastern regions of Syria, under the auspices of the Martyrs Families Council in Qamishlo city.

The demonstration was launched from the Osman Sabri roundabout in the Western Neighborhood of Qamishlo, where mothers, fathers and sons of the martyrs raised the images of their martyrs who were martyred during their attacking IS mercenaries factions and the Turkish occupation army that attacked northern and eastern Syria.

The demonstration was stopped at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Qamishlo, where the demonstrators made a statement to public opinion, read by the co-chair of in al-Jazeera Hassan Obaid.

The text of the statement:

"We, the families and mothers of martyrs in the geography of Rojava and northeastern Syria, appeal to and call for free humanity and all international organizations and institutions concerned with the rights of peoples in freedom, equality and justice to stand by our people in dealing with all forms of genocide and murder imposed on us by the Turkish state and its mercenaries.

The whole world must know that the Turkish state practices are no different from IS oppressive practices, civilians are massacred in Afrin and the ethnic cleansing and genocide are carried out in order to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe. In order to avoid IS revival, we appeal to the United Nations and the international community to stand against the crimes. The humanitarian crimes committed by Turkey in Afrin and on our areas.

We therefore appeal the United Nations institutions:

First: put an air embargo on the Autonomous Administration areas of northern and eastern Syria.

Second: consider any threat and Turkish attack is a violation of international conventions, and a state of occupation.

Third: Send human rights organizations to Afrin and work to document the violations committed by the Turkish occupation against the people of Afrin.

Fourth: the participation of Autonomous Administration in the Geneva negotiations and the committee for writing the constitution.

In conclusion, we are the families of the martyrs of mothers, fathers and their children. We have sacrificed more than 8,000 martyrs in our war against IS, these martyrs have sacrificed themselves for all humanity. All international organizations have to preserve the safety of these sacrifices. And we once again renew our pledge that we will defend their goals and we will walk on their path .
