22 Sudanese parties, most of them participating in the government signed a memorandum to the President Omar al-Bashir demanding the dissolution of the government and the parliament.

Sky News reported that the parties also called for the formation of a transitional council to lead the country, in addition to the formation of a transitional government that combines competencies and political representation.

The request of the political parties came after Bashir issued on Tuesday a decision to form a committee to investigate the violence that accompanied the demonstrations witnessed in the country.

Sudan has been witnessing protests since December 19 after a government decision to raise the price of bread and fuel, and the clashes with security forces resulted in killing 19 people and injuring hundreds.
