Christians of al-Tabqa rejected Turkish threats

The Christians of al-Tabqa stressed their stand against threats by Turkish President Erdogan to launch attacks on northern and eastern parts of Syria, calling him "the little Ottoman" and citing the massacres committed by the Ottomans against the Armenians more than 100 years ago.

In the atmosphere of celebrating Christmas in al-Tabqa city unprecedented for decades, according to the views of Christians, al-Tabqa Christians denounced the Turkish threats to launch attacks on areas liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces from IS.

Muna Stivan in an interview with ANHA agency after her recitation of the prayers, she said that Erdogan is trying to occupy Syria in an attempt to "restore the Ottoman map that was centuries ago." The history of the Ottomans which is full of blood and massacres committed against the region's components, especially the Armenians.

For his part, Hanna Salim Shammu, also a resident of al-Tabqa city of the Christian community, described Erdogan as the "great terrorist" who has made IS and defended its existence until this moment.

He added "We condemn the threats that Erdogan makes from time to time, which coincide with the progress of Syrian Democratic Forces in the last stronghold of IS, and this shows the deep and close link between Turkey and IS."
