Risky work with great achievements of demining teams in al-Raqqa

Demining teams are continuously responding to requests from the residents or military forces in the event of reporting of any mine, explosive devices left behind ISIS in al-Raqqa city

During this month, the engineering teams cleaned 16 houses in different districts of the city of al-Raqqa, 19 public places and 4 schools, where 72 mines, 39 shells, 2 grenades, 10 rockets, 14 explosive devices and explosive belt were dismantled.

Engineering teams' mechanism for demining

Residents will submit their requests to the Interior Committee in the Civil Council. The request will be transferred from the Interior Committee to the engineering teams. The team will immediately respond to the request and dismantle the containers or mines in the houses. .

In the event of urgent cases such as an explosive device on a public road or on the sidewalk or in a place that threatens the lives of civilians, there is no need to submit an application to the Interior Committee, but they would be removed immediately by the engineering teams, and in the event of any explosion, the engineering team heads to the place the explosion to secure the place of other containers or mines.

The member of the de-mining engineering team in the city of al-Raqqa Khalid Al-Ahmad said, "We are continuing our demining work until cleaning the city completely from mines"

Al-Ahmad pointed out that on a daily basis, 5 to 8 requests are submitted on a daily basis by the residents to dismantle or detect mines from their homes.

"

It should be noted that the Internal Security Forces in al-Raqqa sacrificed 4 martyrs from the city of al-Raqqa who were carrying out their duty to remove mines in the city and its countryside. The martyrs were Ali Melhem, martyr Meteb Al-Abdullah, martyr Mamoun and martyr Ahmed Raqqa.
