Rizgar was great struggler... Biography of a martyr journalist

As far as possible I will protect myself, but if taking one picture will change the situation of this people and the Kurdish media, then I will not leave to think about any area and I will sacrifice myself to capture that picture."

These words were said by Rizgar Adanmiş (Rizgar Denîz) , the owner golden pen and the fresh letters, eager for freedom, the owner of the march, rich in misery, resistance and struggle.

His words carry a deep and inexhaustible depth of intellectual maturity and a spirit of patriotism. As much as he loves his country, the love of life, and the way he always did, he was always smiling,he spread the happiness among his friends, faithful to his friends, serious in work and strong in will and intelligence.

Today marks the first anniversary of the departure of our correspondent,Rizgar Adanmiş, after he was injured by a terrorist bombing on Kharafi road between the cities of Deir-ez-Zor and al-Hasakah on 12 October 2017. After a long struggle,Rizgar martyred due to his wounds on 18 December Second of the same year.

He is from  Sêrtê city in north Kurdistan, which was opened for the first time his eyes on life,to south kurdistan, where Rustam Judy refugees camp who had fled from the fascism of the Turkish authorities and from Şengal province to Rojava, during his career as a journalist put imprint in the revolution that re-codified the history of modern Kurdistan .

In 2013, Rizgar completed his studies at the College of Media at the University of Salahaddin in the city of Hewlêrê ,He began to work as a journalist in Mexmûr camp while he was looking to intensify his efforts to develop his media work as a victory for the Kurdish people, who have a history of tragedies that they have not written about.

The joutnalist statred his way by the bold word and the golden character began his journey to life when he opened his eyes on February 19, 1991, in Sêrtê city , in the northwestern area of Botanê, belonging to a national family of seven.

The city where he was born was exposed to various kinds of injustice and its inhabitants suffered, as did Rizgar family, by the Turkish authorities who had abandoned them from their homes. Hundreds of thousands of Kurdish people were displaced in north Kurdistan as part of the policy of hostility towards the Kurdish people.

The family, having been forced out of Istanbul and Ankara, moved to Iran, from where they crossed into Iraq and settled in Mexmûr  camp is about 240 kilometers from Baghdad.

Rizgar motivated to work in the context of the media, which is known as "the profession of trouble," and its main purpose is to show the truth of what its people are suffering and exposed to. Because the Kurds were a nation that has always suffered from marginalization in the media while the violations committed against them at the highest levels.

Rizgar, accompanied by Kurdish journalist Denîz  Furat, who later was martyred the journalist's work trip from Mexmûr camp after returning from the mountains of Kurdistan, where he received a training course in the academy of martyr  Gurbetelî Ersoz .

He has strong relation ship with the journalist Denîz  Furat, after martyring Denîz during her job to cover the events of IS' attacks on Mexmûr camp on 8 Aug 2018, Rizgar decided to carry name of journalist Denîz ,calling himeself  Rizgar Denîz.

His friend Denîz Furat once advised him to go to Rojava and do journalism, Rizgar said, which Rojava had done and worked as a reporter and editor at (ANHA).

Journalist difficult tasks

Rizgar was a journalist for difficult taska. He was the first journalist to attend the most important and hard battles that took place on the land of  Rojava and North Syria.

From the campaigns to liberate the towns of Tel-Hamis and Tel-Barak and through the liberation campaign of the mountains of Abdul Aziz (Jabal Kezwanan), and the campaign to liberate the city of Tel-Abyed , which witnessed the announcement of the liberation, and then the liberation campaign of the town of al-Hull east of al-Hasakah city, and finally the battles of Deir-ez-Zor city , he was existing to document epics his comardes from (YPG and YPJ) by his camera and his pen .

His work in Syria was very difficult for Rizgar but was not hesitant at every step because he believed in the revolution of the people and the need to expose the policies of the enemies.

Rizgar did not want the people of  Rojava to live what his sons lived in north Kurdistan when they were killed and displaced, and there were no press lenses to document what happened to the world public opinion.

He spent a period of time working in Şengalê province in early 2015, where he worked as a reporter for the satellite channel "GTV", and witnessed the liberation of the province of Şengalê   and the transfer of the events of the Kurdistan Democratic Party against the people of Şengalê.

When he returned to Rojava the year was 2017. The battles of SDF launched against IS  continued in al-Raqqa city , so he wanted to go to it but did not have the chance. So he worked as a correspondent for the Stark TV channel temporarily until he returned to work at (ANHA) by September of the same year.

Rizgar applied to cover the events of the campaign to liberate the countryside of Deir-ez-Zor city from IS that launched on September 9, 2017. He went to the countryside of Deir-ez-Zor and continued the campaign step by step.

He was very brave ,he had no fear in his heart, he was existed in the seam line trying to monitor the latest developments but while he and his two fellow journalists Dilîşan Îbiş,Hogir Mohammed (ANHA)'s correspondents following the events of liberating civilians from grip IS and reaching to liberated areas ,IS sent booby- trapped vehicle blasted among them.

This was the day of October 12, when the explosion occurred among the civilians on Kharafi road between the cities of al-Hasakah and Deir-ez-Zor,  where(ANHA)'s correspondent Dilîşan Îbiş was martyred and Hogir Mohammed wounded,who was martyred days later from his woundes and Rizgar transferred to several hospitals ,but he  martyred after 70 days of resistance on 18 December 2017 and his body was buried in Rustam Judy camp after a ceremony was held in Qamishlo city and in the camp.

His mother, Maryam Adanmiş,says she was afraid of the mines she had heard that mercenaries were sowing everywhere in her country. "When Rizgar went to Deir-ez-Zor city , I was moving between channels, hoping to see him and hear about him ,when I heard that he was wounded, he rejoiced because he did not leave life, but eventually he did.

His memory is immortal

Rizgar, who has suffered both and his family for years in which the Kurds in general have been subjected to dirty policies practiced by the occupying powers, had a remarkable presence wherever they went.

When he revealed the intentions of joining the Faculty of Information, his mother prevented him because she knew that the media was a difficult profession and one day she lost her beloved son, but Rizgar used to say to her: "Let me show the real face of the suffering experienced by the Kurdish people everywhere."

Those words he uttered, made his mother leave him the choice.

He was known by his strong will in all matters related to the Kurdish issue. He had a high national spirit He always said that "someone who moves away from his cause will be easily defeated by the enemy, so we have to work together to serve our cause."

Like him, their peerless in our time, he was faithful with his friends to an extent that was not described, he used to say that friends were more precious than parents ,he made a lot of friendships during his work in Rojava,he did not know betrayal or lying, so everyone loved him

He was always visiting frequently the families of the martyrs in al-Jzareea canton to reassure of their conditions,he loved the children, and was greatly affected by their condition. One of his comrades remembers that Rizgar was crying many times when he was listening to the stories of the martyrs when he visited them.

He has strong relation ship with Rojava (west Kurdistan) was fantastic he had a strange love relationship with him on this land, he always said that he was the son of the city of Qamishlo .

His mother went to Rojava after hearing that he was wounded , but when Rizgar martyred ,the children of  Rojava rose to stand beside her. His mother said "Rizgar was honest about what he said about the sons of Rojava,and they stood with me, His ceremony was held by the sons of Rojava .

Rizgar recommended his brother Amade when he was wounded to work in the media and press in Rojava , and now Rizgar's brother promises that he will be worthy of the trust of his martyred brother and will continue his career.

Hewler Adanmiş, the sister of Rizgar , remembers that her brother was smiling a lot , he we always smile despite the difficult circumstances we are experiencing because it breaks the enemy,"

Hewler told him that she would join the ranks of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement. Rizgar encouraged her to do so and recommended that she call herself Denîz  Furat as nom de guerre to complement the march of her fellow journalist.

When a funeral ceremony was held for the martyr Rizgar Adanmiş   at the Shrine of the Martyr Dalia Sarokhan in Qamishlo city, dozens of  fellow journalists stood up and raised their hands as they recited the words of the covenant to continue his path and complete the quest for truth and display it to become a flame of light and motivation to embark on a new revolution to reach the truth.
