Barsom: Unity of Syrian people will thwart Erdogan's ambitions

This came during an interview held by Hawar news agency with the co-chair of the Syriac Union Party Senhrib Barsom who explained at the beginning of his statement that everyone knows the Turkish ambitions to occupy the Syrian territory in an attempt to implement its project supporting the armed terrorist groups that failed in the areas of northeastern Syria after they were thwarted by SDF.

He added, "The border between us and Turkey has always been peaceful, and the Turkish state has not hesitated to target our areas in northeastern Syria continuously."

As for the Turkish occupation's attacks on the areas of north-east Syria, Senhrib Barsom noted that the aim of these attacks is to hit the project of the Democratic Autonomous Administration which is shared by all the people of the region, and consolidate its project in the area located in al-Bab, Jarabulus and Afrin which has never been settled since the beginning of the occupation of Turkey.

Barsom said that Turkey has always negative role in the political solution in Syria. He added, "Turkey always wants war and chaos to be present because in such circumstances, it can control and occupy the Syrian territory."

Barsom noted that Erdogan poses a real threat not only to Syria, but to the entire Middle East. Therefore, it requires the international community to stop the ambitions of the Turkish regime and to work to expel the Turkish occupation from Syrian territory.

The co-chair of the Syriac Union Party Senhrib Barsom denied all the Turkish allegations about the presence of the PKK, considering that these allegations are only to justify the entry into the Syrian territory and hit the gains of the peoples and east of Syria with all its components.

Barsom explained that the Syrian Union Party is part of the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Council.

He added, "We agree on basic points regarding the region and the political project in Syria as a whole. We always seek to these points through our relations with the neighboring countries, and we are part of Syria and seek for a democratic and decentralized Syria to ensure all the rights of the components."

At the end of his speech, Senhrib Barsom called on the international community and the International Coalition to stand against the Turkish aggression which is trying to target the peoples of north-east Syria, pointing out that everyone must unite in order to deal with any attack launched by the Turkish occupation.
