Meri al-Shibli: We called for comprehensive national dialogue that can produce democratic constitution

The talk of the member of the presidential body of the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) Meri al-Shibli came during an interveiw held by ANHA agency, pointing out that they are seeking to build a democratic and pluralistic homeland.

In his speech, al-Shibli congratulated the Syrian people on the occasion of the third anniversary of the establishment of the Syrian Democratic Council, which took place on the 9th of the current month and added, "We commemorate the third anniversary of the establishment of the Syrian Democratic Council. This Council has won the confidence of the Syrian people with all spectra, and we have called since the beginning of the crisis and so far to be an agreed single row according to the respect for the principles of the other."

Al-Shalabi said in his speech that MSD has always been and will continue to call for dialogue away from militarization, and continued, "We find that the other parties of the opposition and the regime insisted on the use of military force. As Syrian people, we were a target of settling international accounts and the proxy war has started. The most contries involved in this crisis are Turkey, Iran and some neighboring countries. They are looking for their interests away from the interests of the Syrian people. We have always said that this crisis can only be solved through Syrian-Syrian dialogue."

Regarding the path of MSD in Syria, al-Shibli said, "In fact, the idea of the Syrian Democratic Council provides a clear approach and we have gained the fruits of our decisions. Our experience in establishing the Autonomus Administrations has spread the concept of the people being the servant of themselves."

Al-Shibli noted in his speech to their numerous attempts as a council to end the battle and to prepare a constitution that serves the interest of everybody. He added, "We have called on our liberated territories from terrorism to build a dialogue table in the Syrian inside, but unfortunately those who call themselves "the opposition" are associated with agendas.

We as Syrian people know how to deal with our affairs and end our suffering. The dialogue that we call for is a comprehensive national dialogue that can produce a constitution that guarantees the rights of the people.

Al-Shibli ended,"The new constitution must be drafted in line with the hopes, aspirations and future of the Syrian people. Seven years were enough to get out of the bottleneck to reach a new homeland. We politically move through a path formed by the people of Syria. We seek to make Syria a pluralistic democratic homeland that preserves the dignity of everybody."
