Arab: Başûr’s decision prevents democracy, strengthens one-party power

In a special interview with Hawar news agency, the representative of the Democratic Union Party in Başûr, said that Başûr authorities had closed the offices of the Democratic Freedom Movement in the cities of Başûr.

Arab said: The closure of the offices comes within the continuation of a long-term policy followed by the authorities of Başûr Kurdistan, since the parliamentary elections, through pressure on the movement to prevent it from entering the parliament as a democratic organization.

He added that this decision "aims primarily to create a rift in the Kurdish community in general and in Başûr Kurdistan in particular, and the restriction on all movements and parties seeking to establish an effective democracy, in order to strengthen the authority of one-party rule.

Pointing out that this decision will be followed by mass rejection in the areas of Sulaymaniyah and Iraq in general, the fact that the movement is licensed in Baghdad and has parliamentarians within the Iraqi parliament.

He pointed out that the government of Başûr Kurdistan prevented the movement from holding its conference on the territory of Başûr, which was forced to hold in areas under the authority of Baghdad government.

The closing of the movement's offices in Başûr came from a decision by the Turkish state aimed at targeting the Kurdish ranks in all four parts of Kurdistan and the Turkish fear of converging the Kurdish viewpoints and consolidating its ranks and building a democratic society based on the ideology and philosophy of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.,

The representative of the Democratic Union Party in Başûr Kurdistan, Suleiman Arab expected the escalating of political views within the Kurdistan Union Party rejecting the party's deviation from his Kurdish policy, calling at the same time, the leadership of the party to retreat from decisions that do not serve the Kurdish interest and unity of rank.
