Hassou: Authorities in Sulaymaniyah must return to approach of late Mam Jalal Talabani

The authorities in the Kurdistan Region closed the headquarters and offices of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in the Kurdistan region, and the decision of the authorities of the region raised denouncement, surprise and resentment of the Kurdish people. The co-chair of  Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) Gharib Hassou said during an interview with ANHA agency explained that the closure of the headquarters of the movement in this period came with the aim of tearing up and dispersing the arrangement of the Kurdish house, and considered it an external decision far from the community of Başûr Kurdistan.

The co-chair of TEV-DEM said that the people of Başûr Kurdistan offered a lot of sacrifices for their freedom and do not accept to undermine their will, and said "This people is well aware that abstracting the freedom of parties came by an external decision, and will not stand idly by against those trying to undermine the unity of the Kurdish rank, especially Kurdistan society Freedom Movement, which is the voice of the people that stood against the Turkish intervention in Başûr Kurdistan."

The closure of the offices came in response to holding consultative meetings of the Kurdistan National Congress

Gharib Hassou said during his meeting that the closure of the offices under the pretext of not being licensed is a just pretext by the authorities of the region to strike the unity of the Kurdish ranks and said, "This action came a month after the meeting of the Kurdistan National Congress in Europe, and the government of Başûr Kurdistan in Sulaymaniyah must return to the approach of the late Mam Jalal, who spent his life in politics to unite the Kurdish rank."

He said that the decision to close the offices of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement is dangerous and unacceptable to the people of Kurdistan, and said, "Everyone understands that it is an external decision that does not belong to the Kurdish people, so the government of Başûr Kurdistan must reverse the decision and apologize to the Kurdish people in Başûr Kurdistan."

Suppression of freedoms is a conspiracy that threatens the Kurdish people

On the position of Democratic Society Movement, the co-chair of TEV-DEM, Gharib Hesso said that they denounce and condemn this decision, and ask the people of Başûr Kurdistan to stand against this decision and said that "if this decision is still valid, it is a continuation of repression of freedoms and continuation of the conspiracy against the Kurdish people". The political policy pursued by the government of Başûr Kurdistan from the closure of political offices and civil organizations and even in film screenings is a mistake committed by the government against a people who won freedom by their own blood, and said "History will expose all conspiracies against the Kurdish people."
