They drew smile on Afrin children's faces

Among the supervisors on the series of activities of the International Children's Day organized in the areas of al-Shahba for the children of Afrin and al-Shahba that aims to provide psychosocial support to the children and raise their morale which was affected by the attacks of the Turkish occupation and their displacement from their homes, pointing out that they were able to draw the smile on the lips of the children of Afrin.

A joint preparatory committee was formed of the Kurdish Red Crescent, the Culture and Art Movement and the Training Committee for the Democratic Society to organize the International Children's Day in the areas of al-Shahba. The Committee held activities for children and young people in the schools in al-Shahba area since the 20th of November, and they have lasted for three days but intermittently because of the inappropriate weather.

The member of the Culture and Art Demhat Khello said to ANHA, "The children of Syria since the beginning of the Syrian crisis have been deprived of many of their rights due to the battle that took place throughout the Syrian territory, in which many children had lost their lives and the rest were deprived of all their rights, including the children of Afrin whom the Turkish occupation warplanes deprived them of their studies and rights and killed dozens of them."

Khello added, "We have established in the areas of al-Shahba a committee to coordinate between the Kurdish Red Crescent and the Education Committee of the Democratic Society to organize the activities of the International Children's Day so that the children of Afrin will celebrate and that is their normal right and also to get away from the scenes of battle which they have lived."

For her part, the member of the Kurdish Red Crescent Hanan Mohammed confirmed, "We wanted through this series of events to support Afrin children's psychology who lost their morale in the result of the destruction and killing scenes in Afrin by the Turkish army aircrafts, and also our goal is to show the situation of Afrin children who are studying in the destroyed schools in the areas of al-Shahba and trying to practice their childhood regardless of the place and time."

A member of the Education Committee of the Democratic Society, Berivan Sido, noted, "After the return of the children to the study desks, we have organized this series of events on International Children's Day in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent and the Culture and Art Movement, including festivities where dancing, singing and theater performances about the reality"

She noted, "They organized festivities in three separate days in several schools in the areas of al-Shahba, where thousands of children joined, and they were able to come up with a positive result from this step, reached their goal and drew the smile on the faces of the innocent children."
