Shahoz Hassen: Current stage is most appropriate to hold Kurdistan conference

In an interview held by the agency's correspondent with the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Shahoz Hassen on the reasons that obstruct the unity of the Kurdish row, the convening of the National Conference, the ways to create the appropriate circumstances and the vision of the party in this regard.

Hassen said, "Today, the struggle of the Kurdish people has reached advanced stages in the political and military fields demanding the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people. The sensitive stage experienced by the Kurdish people in all parts and its impact on the Middle East help more to achieve the national unity through the convening of a Kurdistan National Conference more than any other time to unite the Kurdish House's speech."

Shahoz added, "The significance of the Kurdistan National Conference stems from the need to unify the Kurdish vision in various parts of Kurdistan to stand against all the bets and conspiracies that are being plotted against the Kurdish people in the Middle East, especially that the Kurdish people today and through their struggle, especially in the fight against terrorism have become an essential side in the Middle East. Thus, serious and effective steps must be taken in this path, and it is a must to work on the principle of Kurdish interests, the interests of the Kurdish people and the interests of the four parts of Kurdistan, and work to implement them in order to not disrupt the convening of Kurdistan Patriotic Conference."

As for the difficulties that face the unification of the political discourse of the political parties and the convening of the Kurdistan Patriotic Conference, Hassen explained that one of the most important obstacles is the division imposed on the four parts of Kurdistan geographically in addition to taking each part and party to a policy different from the other parts on the Kurdish level commensurate with their interests, and the cooperation and dealings of some Kurdish parties in parts of Kurdistan with the hostile and occupying parties of the Kurdish territories against the Kurdish people.

In order to find out the ways that help to prepare the condition for solving the outstanding problems and reaching the national unity through a national conference that suits the aspirations of the Kurdish people, Hassen pointed out that all Kurdish political parties must avoid the narrow party visions, do not differentiate each part of Kurdistan from the other and the work on the interests of the Kurdish people firstly to accelerate holding the Kurdistan Patriotic Conference and to reach the solutions.

Hassen pointed out that many circumstances imposed themselves on the Kurdish political parties to return to the Kurdish people and unify the Kurdish discourse, but the continued differences of those parties prevented the convening of this conference and reaching what the Kurdish people hoped to, where he said, "The attacks launched against the Kurdish people, and the resistance and the unity shown by the Kurdish people as done in Kobanî,  Şengal and Başûr Kurdistan prepared the ground to the unification and cohesion of these political parties with the people, and to assume their political responsibilities for the parallel of the unity of the people, but the continued differences obstructed reaching a decisive decision.

Hassen described at the end of his speech that holding the Kurdistan National Conference that aims at gathering all the Kurdish political parties is the first goal of PYD, and that PYD works particularly on strengthening the relations with all the Kurdish political parties in Rojava in order to preserve the gains achieved by the Kurdish people and make them a basis to solve the Kurdish issue, and he said, "We are ready to hold our responsibilities and to convene the Kurdistan National Conference."
