Turkish Vice President Fouad Aktay told reporters on Friday that Turkey has withdrawn from a summit on Libya in Italy "with great disappointment" in protest at what he called Ankara's exclusion from some talks.

He said, "Any meeting excluding Turkey would be fruitless in order to find a solution to this problem."

Aktay made the remarks from Palermo in Italy, where a two-day summit is held  over Libya to discuss the UN-sponsored peace plan to stabilize Libya.
