Benefiting from rubble of al-Raqqa to rehabilitate roads, bridges

The Reconstruction Committee works in coordination with the Early Intervention Team to remove the rubble from the city of al-Raqqa and to make use of it through the expansion of the public roads in the city, as well as the destroyed bridges are being rehabilitated.

The Reconstruction Committee affiliated to al-Raqqa Civil Council, in coordination with the Early Intervention Team, began to remove the remains of rubble and earth mounds left behind IS mercenaries after its liberation by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on 20 October 2017, and hundreds of bulldozers are deported out of the city daily.

Restoration of bridges from rubble

The committee benefited from the rubble in repairing the bridges which had been exploded by IS, and more than five bridges had been repaired, including the Old Bridge- al-Raqqet-al-Samra Bridge – al-Romania Bridge – al-Sawame' Bridge and al-Hekomia Bridge.

Neighborhoods and streets where rubble has been removed

The neighborhoods that have been cleaned are al-Mushlab, al-Sinaa, Rumaila, al-Thawra, al-Furat, al-Daria, al-Tayiar, al-Jazra, al-Sakan al-Shababi, and Tal al-Aswad neighborhoods.

The streets that have been cleaned are Hisham Bin Abdul Malik Street, 23 Shebat, Tel Abyed, al-Qutali, al-Saa, al- Bayatra, Saif al- Dawla, al- Motaz, al- Mujama and al-Kanisa Streets. These streets are famous of heavy traffic.

The head of the Reconstruction Committee Team Abdullah al-Arian said, "As soon as we entered the city of al-Raqqa and see the magnitude of the great destruction, we have taken our responsibility to restore them despite our weak and limited potential. The rubble has been removed and many streets and bridges in al-Raqqa city have been repaired so far.
