Turkey's mercenaries attack regime in demilitarized zone

Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Army's mercenaries belonging to Heyat Tahrir al-Sham ( Jabhet al-Nusra) and supported by the Turkish occupation state launched an attack on Thursday dawn against the regime's forces in Wadi al-Mazroui area at the Abandoned Battalion axis in the eastern countryside of Idlib, located in the demilitarized zone that extends from Lattakia north-east mountains through Hama and Idlib arriving to the north-west suburbs of Aleppo.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, violent clashes erupted between the two parties before the mercenary gang's withdrawal to their positions and points.

The Observatory confirmed that the clashes resulted in confirmed casualties in the ranks of the two sides, as it has been confirmed that a mercenary of Tahrir al-Sham at least was killed, in addition to the killed and wounded in the ranks of the regime forces.

In a related context, violations renewed within the areas of the Turkish-Russian truce (Hama, Idlib, Aleppo and Lattakia) and the demilitarized zone since Thursday dawn until the moment according to the Syrian Observatory.

The Observatory said that the forces of the regime bombed intensively on Thursday dawn and morning places in Tawil al-Halib, Masada, Jab al-Sultan and other places in the eastern countryside of Idlib in addition to shelling places in the vicinity and outskirts of al-Tamanah town in the southern countryside of Idlib, while the regime forces  targeted on Thursday morning with heavy machine guns the areas in al-Latamna town north of Hama. No precise information was obtained about causing human casualties.

On 17 September, the Russian and Turkish Presidents agreed to establish a demilitarized zone. Under the terms of the agreement, Turkey would supervise the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the demilitarized zone, and the removal of mercenaries from that area would be completed by 15 October.

Two weeks after the implementation of the agreement; however, the Turkish mercenary gangs are still existed in the area with heavy weapons.

On Monday, the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said, "The terrorist gangs are still existed with heavy weapons in this area. This is an indication that Turkey does not want to carry out its obligations and therefore, Idlib is still under the control of terrorism supported by Turkey and the West."

"We confirm that Ankara has not succeeded yet in fulfilling all its responsibilities under the agreement," the Russian Defense Ministry's spokesman Major-General Igor Konashnikov said in a press briefing.

Turkey is considered a guarantor of the mercenary and terrorist gangs in Idlib, primarily the mercenaries of Hayet Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhet al- Nusra).
