Regime threatens demilitarized zone due to Turkish side's failure to implement its duties

Sputnik agency quoted from a senior military source of the regime saying, "The Syrian army will launch military action in the demilitarized zone if the terrorist organizations continue to attack its points and positions, especially with the failure of the Turkish side to fulfill its obligations under the Sochi Agreement."

The source pointed out that a military action is expected to be launched by the Syrian forces if the armed gangs continue to escalate on the fronts of the countryside of Hama and Idlib, adding that the front of the north Hama countryside has been witnessing a deliberate escalation of the armed gangs, especially the militants of the Hurras al-Din deployed near the checkpoint of the Turkish checkpoint in the vicinity of the city of Morek, north of Hama. The latest attacks were carried out by the armed gangs on Monday targeting the army positions in the vicinity of Talet al-Dahra near the city of Suran with a number of shells which necessitated a response by the Syrian army to the sources of fire through the artillery and missiles."

The source added, "The Syrian army forces observed the armed of the organization of Jaish al-Izza bringing military reinforcements and equipment from the areas of Idlib to the front of al-Latamna north of Hama, and that has been dealt by the artillery which led to destroying a number of vehicles and the killing and wounding a number of militants.

The source pointed out that the Turkish side has failed so far to control the armed gangs and convince them to withdraw from the demilitarized zone, stressing that this situation is no longer possible, and if the armed groups continue to escalate, the Syrian forces will not only respond to the escalation, but there would be a wide military action in the area.
