Suicide bomber blew herself in Tunisian security patrol

Security sources said Monday that 9 people, mostly security men, were killed in a suicide attack near the headquarters of the interior ministry in central Tunis capital.

The official radio said that a woman blew herself in the Habib Bourquiba street, while sources pointed out that the bombing targeted a security patrol.

The sources said that the attack, which occurred at the rush hour near the headquarters of the Interior, resulted in the injury of 8 security men and a civilian.

The Tunisian presidency extended earlier the state of emergency in force in the country since a series of bloody terrorist attacks in 2015 until next November 6.

The latest terrorist attack occurred in Tunisia on November 24, 2015, killing 12 members of the presidential security and wounding 20 others in a suicide attack on their bus in central Tunis was adopted by IS.

The Presidency then imposed the state of emergency for 30 days, and then extended the work several times for periods ranging from 1 month to 3 months.
