Lailawa al-Abdullah: Mine, ISIS' using for civilians as human shields reason for campaign's slow progress

During a special statement to the official spokesman of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign, Lailawa al-Abdullah to ANHA agency confirmed that the final stage of the campaign of al-Jazeera tempest under the name of "Battle to defeat terrorism" against ISIS in its latest pocket in Hajin town continues with all its strength.

She confirmed that IS mercenaries during the sandstorm launched counter-attacks against the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which enabled the fighters to kill a large number of IS mercenaries.

ailawa said that IS mercenaries attacked from al-Bahra axes the Syrian Democratic forces' points with booby-trapped vehicles and motorcycles and the fighters enabled to thwart their attacks, which resulted in the killing of several mercenary elements.

During the fighting, the mercenaries used various types of weapons, she said, noting that fighters had managed to destroy many heavy weapons during their response to the mercenaries' attacks.

Laila al-Abdullah confirmed that the international Alliance's aircraft managed to destroy the center of the so-called general command of IS mercenaries in Hajin town.

During the storms in Deir ez-Zor, they infiltrated into Iwa camp near the town of Al-Bahra. They targeted the civilians directly, while the fighters managed to distance them from the camp and clashed with them for long hours. The clashes resulted in the killing of dozens of mercenaries, while a group of fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces rose to the honor of martyrdom.

Lailawa Al-Abdullah said that the mercenaries kidnapped a group of civilians and took them to the mercenaries-controlled zone for use as human shields to hinder the progress of the fighters in the campaign.

In conclusion, she confirmed that the Syrian Democratic Forces fighters continue with enthusiasm of their campaign. "In the interest of the safety of civilians, our forces are slowly advancing in the campaign."
