105 mercenaries killed amid SDF advance in Deir ez-Zor

The media center of SDF issued a statement on Saturday disclosing the outcome of the clashes erupted between SDF and IS mercenaries within the last stage of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign which is the battle to defeat terrorism.

The statement included,

“Baguz axis: IS mercenaries exploited the sandstorm that invaded the area and launched counter-attacks against our forces’ sites as our forces repelled the attacks in which the terrorists used various kinds of weapons. In the result of the clashes, a number of the terrorists were killed.

The terrorists also launched an attack in which they used Dushkas and motorbikes while our fighters foiled the attack and killed a number of mercenaries while the rest of them fled.

The International Coalition’s aircrafts targeted the terrorists’ sites and fortifications with several aerial raids. Moreover, the Coalition’s artillery targeted the terrorists’ sites with artillery shelling.

Hejin axis: Fierce clashes broke out between our forces and IS mercenaries in the result of an attack launched by the latter against our forces’ sites, but our fighters repelled it and inflicted them with human losses. The fighters also managed to destroy a vehicle and a bulldozer that belong to the mercenaries. Moreover, the Global Coalition’s warplanes launched several aerial raids on the terrorists’ sites and fortifications as they destroyed their fortifications and the command’s headquarters.

Al-Behra axis: IS terrorists used booby-trapped and armored vehicles during their attack on this axis to break the frontal lines of our fighters, but the fighters repelled them and were engaged in direct clashes with them. The fighters repelled the attack and killed a number of terrorists. In addition, a suicidal mercenary blasted himself before reaching our fighters’ points in addition to destroying a number of booby-trapped vehicles. Furthermore, the terrorists bombarded the clashes’ areas with mortars haphazardly.

The terrorists infiltrated into Hejin camp for refugees that is adjacent to al-Behra town exploiting the bad weather conditions and the sandstorm in conjunction with moving their sleeping cells inside the camp as they targeted the civilians directly, but our forces repelled them and clashed with them to protect the refugees from the terrorists’ fire. The clashes resulted in killing more than 20 terrorists while the rest of them fled. The mercenaries kidnapped a number of civilians and took them to the areas under their control.

Furthermore, our fighters combed the area after the clashes and they managed to set up 5 new points.

The clashes’ outcome:

The number of the terrorists’ killed: 105 terrorists.

The raids of the Global Coalition’s aircrafts: 14 raids.

The number of the rockets launched by the Global Coalition on the terrorists’ sites: 21 Hummers missiles.

The terrorists’ losses: A Hummer vehicle loaded by Dushka, 6 mortar sites, a site of launching missiles, a Dushka and 3 vehicles were destroyed and a bulldozer and a Hummer vehicles were wrecked.
