Shahoz Hassen: We advocate negotiation to solve the crisis, but Turkish occupation must end

The talk of Shahoz Hassen came during a speech he delivered in a meeting held by PYD in Tel Abyed / Girê Spî city in the presence of the members of the party's councils and dozens of people from various components.

The meeting which was held at Ahmed Yassin School under the roof of 3 tents set up in its yard aimed at explaining the recent developments on the Syrian geography, especially on the political level in addition to discussing the organizational situations of the party in Tel Abyed canton.

“The regime must prepare to take serious steps serving the future of Syria”

The co-chair of PYD Shahoz Hassen said, "We advocate negotiation. The talks between us and the regime are stalled, but we hope them to continue because we want a political solution that is accepted by the Syrians.”

Shahoz added, “The Syrian regime does not approach the dialogue seriously. It must be prepared to change the constitution and be elected by the people. It must get ready to take serious steps that serve building future Syria on the foundations of peace, security and democracy.”

 “We advocate the political solution”

Shahoz Hassen stressed that they support the political solution and exert all efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis. He added, “It is not the Kurds who negotiate with the Syrian regime, rather, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) accompanied by the Autonomous Administration which represent all the components of the area participated in the negotiation.”

In a response to a question posed by one of the attendees, Shahoz Hassen said that the Autonomous Administration is ready for the Syrian-Syrian dialogue and negotiation to solve the Syrian crisis.

 “There is no solution under the presence of the Turkish occupation on the Syrian territories”

The co-chair of PYD Shahoz Hassen confirmed his rejection of the Turkish occupation of the Syrian territories. He continued saying, "We cannot talk about a solution in Syria while there are Turkish troops occupying the Syrian territories. The occupation must be ended.”

Commenting on the recent situations in Idlib, Shahoz Hassen said, "We recently noticed an American attitude about Idlib. They say that they are keen about the safety of the civilians in Idlib. In fact, we are also eager about the safety of the Syrians, but why they were not so when Turkey attacked Afrin and destroyed it.”

 “The Turkish and Russian agreement on a buffer zone threatens the unity of the Syrian lands. We consider that as a division, and the route of the buffer zone may be Turkish borders in the future. This scenario is similar to what happened in Iskenderun," he said.

One of the attendees wondered about Iran’s attitude towards Idlib issue, while shahoz said, “Iran is going through a difficult situation because it has lost its status as a result of its hostility to the other countries and due to the sanctions imposed on it, but the Syrian regime cannot undergo any battle without resorting to it.”
