Decorating "hair tent"… culture inherited from ancestors till today

The nomads who live the migratory life still spread their tents widely in all the lands of Ain Issa district's countryside. They take from the houses whose forms and names differ from the heat of summer and the cold of winter.

The nomads live in homes that help them move from place to place in search of pastures for their sheep and camels, which prevents them from settling in one place.

The names and types of houses differ according to the material from which they are made, such as the black hair tent, which is made from goats' hair, or cotton tents that are woven from wool and each type has a label and features that are distinguished from each other.

The hair tents is characterized by its high ability to isolate water during winter and heat in summer, but it became a burden on those who use it to the size and weight and the extinction of the trade or sale, which led most of them to make tents of cotton or canvas bags because it light in weight and handmade in many sizes.

The tent which is made of cotton or canvas bags requires plastic insulation to prevent winter rain and sun protection.

Women's innovations gave aesthetic character to mobile tents

To give these mobile tents a beautiful view, women have used innovative ways of adornment in the tents, which are pieces of white or colored fabric have cut them and decorated to different shapes and designs.

The nomads transport their homes and tents with them wherever they travel, as the destination is often a place with pastures for cattle and camels.
