In an interview with ANHA agency, the member of the Executive Committee of the Syrian Democratic Council, Hikmat Habib, spoke about the recent agreement between Turkey and Russia about Idlib.

During a summit in the Russian city of Sochi, the Turkish and Russian presidents agreed on Tuesday to establish a demilitarized zone along the lines of the forces controlling Idlib with the Syrian regime, ranging from 15-20 kilometers.

After the agreement, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened the areas of North Syria, which is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, and analysts said the threat was indicative of Turkish intentions to guide the terrorists in Idlib to those areas.

"Recently, all the attention has shifted to the Syrian city of Idlib, there have been embarrassments to the international community through the deals in Astana and the areas of De- escalation that we viewed as Syrian Democratic Council as areas of sharing power," Hikmat Habib said.

He pointed out that "Idlib turned into a large human reservoir after the recent deals between the countries, and is home to millions of Syrians in addition to tens of thousands of the terrorist gangs that receive clear support from the Justice and Development Government"

"There are undeclared agreements!"

As for the recent agreement between Turkey and Russia, Habib said, "What is sad is that the Syrians are absent in taking decisions, "Turkey is the one who spoke on behalf of the regime, and the Turkish state also spoke on behalf of the terrorists and decided, and we believe that there is a frightening deal between the two countries that has not yet been announced," Habib said.

We fear that the demilitarized zone is the distance or limit to conjoin Idlib to the Turkish state, Turkey has a clear history from the Iskenderun and even the Syrian territory it occupies now."

"We, as Syrians, fear this part of the Syrian territory from the plans of the Justice and Development Government," he said. "Turkey will try to show terrorist gangs a new filter, the so-called moderate opposition, like Jarablus, which replaced its terrorists with the Euphrates Shield.

"We, as the Syrian Democratic Council, are concerned about Tuesday's undeclared agreements, and are keen not to shed more Syrian blood."

The Syrian situation is dangerous!

"The Turkish state has a phobia and concern about the democratic nation's project, and he wanted to mix the papers through this agreement, and we have improved the status of deals between the regional countries, especially in Afrin on Yesterday and today Idlib," Hikmat Habib said.

Habib pointed out that "the Syrian situation is in a serious situation and the Syrian state to stop the plans and things that lead to the division of Syria or the truncation of part of its territory through the announcement of the Syrian-Syrian dialogue."

Habib blamed the Syrian government for what happened "regardless of the differences between us. The Syrian government is primarily responsible for everything that happens, and what bring us together is the one country and the Syrian identity. We are closely monitoring what is happening and we fear that these groups will be pushed towards our regions as well as the intransigence of the Turkish state".

He stressed that "our military forces are ready to respond to any aggression and preserve the territories liberated from terrorism, and will defend the democratic project in north and east of Syria."
