Sleeper cell arrested in al-Raqqa

The General Security Service of the Internal Security Forces in al-Raqqa area revealed the results of the operations carried out against IS mercenaries’ sleeper cells, in which they were able to arrest these gangs and seize quantities of weapons and ammunition.

The media center of the Internal Security Forces in al-Raqqa issued a statement, in which it revealed the results of the operations carried out by the General Security Service.

The statement included,

"During the operations carried out by the General Security Service of the Internal Security Forces in al-Raqqa against the terrorist cells working in favor of IS mercenaries, our forces confiscated a number of weapons and ammunition.

According to the General Administration of the General Security Service, they received intelligence information about the activity of a terrorist cell in the past few days, west of al-Raqqa city, specifically within the road between al-Jazra and Hettin hamlet, and the cell members have been arrested and their weapons have been seized as the cell intended to use them in the explosions and to target the civilians and fighters in al-Raqqa.

And weapons that have been confiscated during the special operation that have thwarted the terrorists’ scheme are as follows:

50 RPG launcher charges with launch weapon of Trigger.

68 Anti-armors’ charges.

53 muzzles used to make chemical explosives.

4 fillings of eich pesh 9.

15 kg of fertilizer that enters the manufacturing of explosives.

It is noteworthy that the Internal Security Forces deliberately paralyze the movements of terrorist cells and eliminate their schemes on a continuous basis.
