Al-Tabqa ISF reviewed some of seized weapons

The Internal Security Forces (ISF) in al-Tabqa area and the Syria's Democratic Forces (SDF) reviewed a part of the weapons seized during the extensive security operation that began on Friday morning and targeted the sleeping cells of IS mercenaries.

The security operation resulted in arresting dozens of mercenaries and large quantities of military weapons and equipment that were prepared to carry out terrorist operations in the area whose aim is to destabilize the security and stability imposed by the SDF and ISF.

The weapons presented by the ISF and SDF are a sample of the seized quantities which are a collection of light and medium weapons; Kalashnikovs and RPG’s launchers with defensive-offensive-sound-smoke fillings, nocturnal telescopes, special military uniforms of IS mercenaries with their black banners in addition to the famous weapon of IS mercenaries which was prepared to carry out assassination operations (silencers) and a number of mines and explosive devices.

It is noteworthy that these sleeper cells have been active recently in al-Tabqa and its countryside and carried out assassinations against a number of elements of the ISF, SDF and a number of notables of the area.

The campaign which was ratified by the Legislative Council in al-Tabqa continues according to the statement issued by the ISF Command in al-Tabqa to consolidate the security and capture the remaining mercenaries.
