Al-Jazeera Tempest: 71,360 km liberated over year, campaign ongoing

Al-Jazeera Tempest campaign's stages achieved many developments such as military and security levels and international coordination, social and service has achieved by virtue of SDF during the year of the war against terrorism and remnants of IS mercenaries in the eastern pockets of the banks of the river Euphrates.

The beginning, first blow to Daesh in the heart of the desert

After the Syrian Democratic Forces achieved a historic victory by cleaning the entire countryside of terror and trap of IS  mercenaries in a narrow distance from the city not exceeding 30% of the entire city, Deir ez-Zor Military Council has announced on September 9, 2017, launched al-Jazeera Tempest to eradicate terrorism in the desert and the banks of the Euphrates River.

This came during a press conference held in Abu Fas village belonging to al-Shaddadi district south of al-Hasakah, where people showed solidarity and unity beside SDF to liberate their areas which increased the enthusiasm of the fighters more in the rapid change of battles and achieve great victories

For its part, the international coalition against Daesh led by US announced its support for al-Jazeera Tempest saying "Their forces will support Syrian Democratic Forces during offensive in Khabur valley as part of its mission by providing equipment, training, reconnaissance and logistical support to the attacking fighters," he said in a statement.

During two days, the forces were able to liberate the industrial city north of Deir ez-Zor with a distance of 15 km, as a sudden attack confusing IS mercenaries in the desert more and gave a strong morale boost to the besieged people in the countryside of Deir- ez-Zor ,where the forces advanced where 63 km have been liberated during once a week, including 2 towns and more than 20 hamlets, village and industrial companies where IS were stationed.

Liberating Sor city is considered great achieved in the battlefield

On 28-9-2017,Sor district is considered strategic area where many villages and hamlets and in its vicinity have been liberated by virtue of Syrian Democratic Forces then the campaign entered in new stage according to the official spokesperson of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign, Lilawa Abdullah" al-Jazeera Tempest campaign has entered a new stage and started advancing on four axes, aimed at liberating the whole of Syrian al-Jazeera territory from the abomination of terrorists and liberating our people from the clutches of terrorism.

With this liberation, the forces began to develop plans and priorities to open safe corridors to rescue civilians who had become human shields for IS mercenaries, after IS were dealt strong blows by SDF's fighters, the forces were able after informing the residents of their safe passage, about 50,000 civilians who have been trapped in the villages of Badia al-Jazzera north of Deir -ez -Zor have been liberated by sacrifices of SDF, as they could not move due to fear of IS and their mines which had densely planted.

The liberation of oil and gas fields, sources of Daesh and torture of civilians

On 14-10- 2017 after fierce battles met the axis of Sor twon and Markada and the forces advanced in depth of 45 km, and then on 22-10 -2017 was liberated field Omar oil, which is considered one of the largest oil fields in Syria area and production,( al-Jafra, Connico , al-Gazi, al-Azba) fields have recently liberated being logistical points that provide terrorists with money, but they also used as centers to torture civilians and carry out executions in various immoral ways.

Joint international coordination, clean up the entire Iraqi-Syrian border in the east of the Euphrates

After the arrival of fighters to the Iraqi border on the east on 25-11-2017, the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Iraqi army forces formed a joint coordination room to fight and prosecute terrorists on the entire border and to ensure security at both ends.

Eradication of Daesh in the desert returning to life at a record speed accompanied by a new social organization

After the liberation of the whole desert of Badia al-Jazzera including villages, towns and cities in the Southern of al- Hasakah and northern Deir-ez-Zor countryside, estimated at an area of 71,360 km and 1,91 km long, the forces headed towards Hajin city which is considered the largest strongholds and most important on the banks of the Euphrates River.

At the social and service level, al-Jazeera Tempest campaign has left behind a return to life at an accelerated pace, in parallel with the hard work of the demining teams, which worked with great effort to accelerate the return of life to these areas in order not to distract the people away from their homes.

Statistics indicate the victory of the people on the blackening of Daesh and the groups that preceded them in persecution

During  year of liberation, accompanied with the formation of the Deir –ez-Zor Civil Council at the end of September 2017 brought together the sons and daughters of Deir –ez-Zor and its villages to take care of the affairs of civilians and to provide material, morale and organizational services to the people.

During the course of his career, it formed more than 13 local councils in the eastern and western of Deir –ez-Zor countryside, in addition to 500 commune or a small council of villages belonging to the areas of Deir ez-Zor liberated by SDF and four municipalities serving the people according to their potential.

Most of the schools in villages and towns were reopened by the Education and Pedagogy Committee of the Council in coordination with the forces to secure it from the mines, and more than more than 140 thousand students have returned to their classrooms under supervision by 5,000 teachers, 4 years were denied education due to armed gangs, mercenaries and terrorists against civilians and their children.

The academies of the democratic society of youth and women and volunteers in Deir –ez-Zor Civil Council and its municipalities were opened in order to create a free society that organizes itself and defend its gains from terrorists and other militias and mercenary gangs.

As a step towards the development of the administration in Deir–ez-Zor, Deir al-Zor Civil Council has achieved a qualitative leap in the organization to form an expanded civil administration consisting of a legislative and executive council, after expanding their work and liberating more areas.

To achieve the aspirations of its components along the lines of the liberated Syrian regions in the north, which is witnessing significant development in terms of organizational, service, social, economic, security and educational and join to autonomous administration in the north and east of Syria with all other regions through representatives in the General Council during the last week
