Reactions against Ocalan's isolation continue

Dozens of residents of Tal Koçer, the members of the district’s council and the members of Kongra Star gathered in front of the People's House to denounce the isolation imposed by the Turkish state against the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

During the gathering, the two statements issued by the council in this regard were read by the co-chair Newaf al-Khadan, and they included,

The statement noted, "The leader Abdullah Ocalan was arrested and has been put in solitary confinement for nearly 20 years till the people have remained without organization and defense. However, the leader Ocalan has done his historic duty through his writings and books, and explained to us and to all peoples of the world the ways of the intellectual struggle against the authoritarian regime."

The statement added, "We, as Tal Koçer Council, TEV-DEM and Kongra Star strongly condemn the isolation imposed on the leader Ocalan, and we call upon all the revolutionary, democratic and humanitarian forces to repel the isolation on the leader of the peoples Abdullah Ocalan."

In the same context, the residents of Kujrat villages gathered in the village of Khana Suri of Dêrik, where a statement about the isolation imposed by the Turkish state against Ocalan was read during the gathering.

The statement was read in Kurdish by the Kurdish language teacher Aitan Suleiman and in Arabic by the administrator of the People's Municipality in Khana Suri Jamal Jalud, and it included,

"Lausanne Treaty denied the existence of the Kurdish people after the Second World War, and the region was divided as the Kurdish people were the most affected by these divisions in the Middle East."

The statement added, "Targeting the Kurdish people by these regimes is still going on, especially in the personality of the leader Abdullah Ocalan. For this reason, the isolation imposed on the leader has reached a point that we cannot afford, especially by the capitalist and occupying forces of Kurdistan, and the isolation imposed on the Kurdish people leader is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated."
